Aluminum sheet and plate are used in everything from aerospace and aircraft manufacturing to beverage packaging, cryogenic storage applications to siding, gutters, and roofing for homes.

 

Aluminum sheet and aluminum plate are essentially the same; the only true distinction is in their respective thickness:
 

Aluminum sheet is any aluminum sheet metal thicker than foil but thinner than 6mm. AL sheet comes in many forms including diamond plate, expanded, perforated, and painted aluminum sheet.

Aluminum plate is any aluminum sheet metal that is thicker than 6mm.
 

Production :

The first step is the production of raw materials. Aluminum ingots are melt into aluminum liquid, and then put into the continuous casting machine for the casting rolls, with the thickness of 8-10mm.
 

And then raw materials come to the finishing mill for repeated rolling to the desired thickness. This is
the second step in the production of aluminum sheet and the most important one.

The third step is to trim the irregular edge of the roll and clean the surface oil.

At last, semi-products are placed in a constant temperature annealing furnace for specific period, to change the internal grain size of aluminum sheet and obtain a variety of mechanical properties and elongation. After the furnace treatment, the products are ready for packing as per customers' requirements.
